Full Job Description

Your duties will include:

  • Bookkeeping for small businesses and sole traders

  • Supporting senior team members with accounts preparation

  • Supporting with the preparation of financial statements

  • Bank reconciliations to support bookkeeping duties

  • General financial admin duties


    • Full training and support will be provided by both employer and training provider.

    The training you will be getting

    The Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard includes 6 AAT exams, in addition to the Synoptic Assessment as part of the End-Point Assessment (EPA) process.

    The knowledge units will be delivered at the EMA training hub in Derby or Nottingham (depending on apprentices' location) through day release

    AAT Modules are as follows:
  • Introduction to Bookkeeping (Level 2 Unit)

  • Principles of Bookkeeping (Level 2 Unit)

  • Management Accounting Techniques


    • Financial Accounting:
  • Preparing Financial Statements

  • Business Awareness

  • Tax Processes for Business


    • Level 3 AAT qualification upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

    Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Number skills, Time management skills, GCSE or equivalent 5 GCSE's including Maths and English (Grade 6) Essential
