Full Job Description

You'll have a relevant degree (or equivalent) and be MRTPI qualified. You'll be an experienced project manager with strong multi discipline team leadership qualities. Experience of energy and infrastructure EIA planning applications would be helpful. Equally sound Planning skills and a keenness to work within the energy and development sectors is of interest to us.

You'll be used to a client-facing role and have an established market reputation and a track record of strong client relationships. Good financial and project management skills are a must, as are great influencing and communication skills. Being able to build and maintain working relationships with colleagues, clients and external bodies is expected.

RPS is looking for an Associate Director to support the growth of our National Planning & Infrastructure Team. The role is based in Leeds in our city centre office and we can offer hybrid working arrangements. From major projects and nationally significant infrastructure projects to major residential, industrial and leisure developments, we bring precision and creativity to the development approvals process. RPS is a leading global multi-disciplinary consultancy, and we specialise in all areas of the built and natural environment, shaping the future of our environmental, social and economic landscapes.
We are proud to be the Planning and EIA lead for some of the most important energy and infrastructure projects across England, Scotland and Wales. Our projects include Round 4 Offshore Wind Farms, international interconnector projects, solar farms and innovative battery storage and energy projects across the UK. With over 20 current DCO projects, the Planning team is actively working on projects such as the Mona Offshore Wind Project, Morgan and Morecambe Transmission Assets, XLinks, Botley West Solar Farm and a range of projects for clients such as BP, Innova, Lightsource bp. RWE, Marubeni and Alcemi.

What you'll be doing
This is a key position where you will help provide leadership, be the day-to-day project lead and be 'go to' person for both the client and your colleagues. You'll get to work with a wide range of clients on diverse of schemes that affect all types of built development managing all aspects of a job.
