Full Job Description

Supporting SME owner managed businesses throughout the North East and UK operating in a variety of sectors and with turnovers ranging from £25,000 to £50 million, we support clients with a personal, tailored service to meet their individual needs., We are expanding and are recruiting for a motivated and experienced bookkeeping/tax assistant to join our team with a view to you enjoying a long and fulfilling career with us.

In this role you will work on projects for a wide range of clients across various industries, providing essential financial support and guidance.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

- Cloud bookkeeping
- Self-assessment personal and corporation tax returns
- Preparation and review of VAT returns
- Company secretarial work
- Cloud accounting set up and training
- Tax advisory support
- Advising and working closely with a range of clients from large corporations to sole traders.
- Liaising with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, to build strong and meaningful relationships.
- Supporting the wider team, leading on ad hoc projects, and reviewing/improving internal work efficiencies

Full time hours 9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified and/or have previous experience in a similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (particularly, Excel).
- A track record of using industry software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and Iris products is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy working with numbers.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Be able to work from our office in Teesside.
