Full Job Description

+ Manage P&L, including monthly performance reporting, identification of key performance drivers, pricing & promotion recommendations.
+ Monitor, analyse & report on external performance and competitor activity to identify risks and opportunities.

  • Brand communications:

  • + Lead all BTL activity such as shopper marketing, sampling & digital activation, PR programs, co-ordinating brand communication materials such as in-store POS, website & images for external customers.
    + Support Commercial Managers for Brand Sell-In presentations taking lead to creating and delivering outstanding experiences for buyers.
  • Innovation and Project management:

  • + Full accountability for delivering Brand led NPD/EPD projects (e.g. flavour/variant extensions, product/pack updates, etc.) under-pinned by insight through internal approval processes, across Retail.
    + Includes: developing winning concepts & product & packaging delivered against this; leading the cross functional project team; building the commercial business case; creating launch plans; working with commercial functions to develop compelling retailer sell-in story.
    + Support Retail, Foodservice & International Innovation teams on longer-term NPD projects.
  • Brand Planning (lead for Bisto (Core, POS & DPM), work alongside Controller for Bisto & Paxo).

  • + Implement the in-year marketing plan & developing course-correction in year.
    + Development of forward strategy & winning plan to grow the Bisto brand.
  • Day to day brand and product management:

  • + Ambassador for the brand portfolio and key day to day contact with all stakeholders.
    + Drive internal engagement around our brand & our launches.
    + Key contact with factories and project management working through the plans and ensure cross functional working .

  • At least 4-5 years' experience in marketing (ideally within the UK), including P&L and budget management

  • Previous local Marketing role / experience is a must

  • Preferred experienced within Food

  • FMCG experienced Brand Manager

  • Project management experience is a must

  • Passion for Food

  • Creating & delivering Innovation & NPD/EPD

    Opportunity for a talented and ambitious Brand Manager to join the Flavouring & Seasoning Marketing team at Premier Foods to support the Marketing Controller on Bisto, the number 1 brand within F&S & a priority brand in total Premier Foods (#3 only behind Mr Kipling & Batchelors in terms of RSV).


  • The role reports into the Marketing Controller - Bisto & Paxo, you will support the Marketing Controller on the £171m RSV Bisto & Paxo portfolio with a particular focus on Bisto which you will own core parts of the gravy, pour over sauces & dry packet mixes portfolio to drive for the UK market and support the International team. Bisto & Paxo both have exciting plans with future developments which need someone to evolve and execute.

    Bisto is the number 1 gravy brand with over 75% share in the UK market but is looking to transform the gravy category in the next few year & expands its footprint beyond just gravy, for example, its recent launch of Roast Seasonings range that won Product of the Year 2024.

    Paxo is the number 1 stuffing brand with 69% share in the UK market and is looking to strengthen its positioning with breadcrumbs and other adjacent categories.

    This role will be a great fit for a resilient and experienced brand owner who is keen to grow some of Britain's best loved cooking brands putting insight at the heart of everything we do, flexing their project management skills, bringing a growth mindset to learning and demonstrating their passion for food through a strong collaborative cross functional leadership style. Commercial effectiveness underpins everything we do and strengths in this area are certainly well respected in the business.

    Some of the exciting parts of the Bisto brand manager role include:

  • Ownership of the Bisto brand: Bisto is the largest brand in the PF Flavouring & Seasoning portfolio and the most profitable portfolio. The brand has wide portfolio of everyday, premium & seasonal gravies to dry packet mixes and pour over sauces and looking to strengthen & expand within all these territories. We also have great heritage and brand love / awareness within the UK market. There are fantastic opportunities to drive growth on the brand through activating various elements of the marketing mix and by championing the brand within Premier Foods and our International team.

  • Deliver specific NPD projects on Bisto: The brand manager will support the Marketing Controller by taking ownership of some NPD projects on Bisto such as new formats, flavours & new white spaces.
