Full Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Caretaker/Handyman to join our friendly and committed team on a fixed-term part-time basis. You will be responsible for carrying out outside work, general caretaker duties and general repairs/maintenance within the centre.,

  • Carrying out general maintenance repairs to student's rooms, communal areas, and company equipment.

  • Reporting on maintenance issues as required - Including reactive and proactive maintenance

  • Assist the Area Maintenance Technician

  • Minor repairs to furniture and internal fixtures and fittings including lights and bulbs

  • Assist the centre manager in busy periods with deliveries and goods

  • Ensuring that our Health and Safety procedures are up to date and upheld to protect you, colleagues, and customers.

  • Collect and dispose of refuge from buildings and goods

  • General knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies

  • Carry out outside wok such as cleaning walkways, yards areas, jet spraying, weeding, planting, and moving equipment

  • Painting of communal areas and bedrooms when required

  • Upkeep of bin area and car park

  • An outstanding can-do attitude and the desire to work as a member of a structured team

  • Delivering exceptional customer service to our customers and putting their needs first is paramount

  • Carrying out daily and weekly reporting and paperwork

  • Any other reasonable request asked of you by your manager

    Excellent customer service skills.

  • Clear communication skills.

  • Previous experience within a maintenance or handy person role

  • Experience of working in an accommodation environment such as a hotel is desirable - not essential

  • Ideally come with a particular skill or trade but this is not essential

  • Impeccable presentation

  • An outstanding can-do attitude and the desire to work as a member of a structured team

  • A willingness to learn and develop practical skills

  • All candidates must provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK to be considered

    As September is our busiest period, you must be available to work 6 days a week from 9.00am - 17.00pm, including the weekends (psst.. extra funds to go towards your Christmas shopping!) , 28 days annual leave
