Full Job Description

You will report, monitor and optimise collections and credit management of our electricity customer portfolio. Liaising with 3rd party debt collection agencies and managing the reporting for any customers during any legal status.

You will help facilitate sustainable growth and protect the company's profits and margins. This is accomplished by minimising exposure to bad debt and maintaining an acceptable level of risk by collecting overdue accounts.

How will I spend my time in this role?

  • To ensure all debt from day +1 billed is managed and tracked daily;

  • To provide reporting on Pre-debts and identify potential debt risks;

  • Create, drive, and implement robust reporting for all debt management requirements to send to our shareholder on a weekly basis and to Op-co on a Bi-weekly basis;

  • Management and oversight of companies placed in legal status to ensure recovery of all outstanding balances;

  • Liaise with 3rd Party debt collection agencies where necessary and ensure we provide accurate and timely information whilst adhering to our compliance policies;

  • Create bespoke reports for both external and internal customers;

  • Work closely with the Customer Services Executives, Sales Teams and Credit Risk Team to ensure cash flow maximisation is achieved whilst maintaining our high level of Customer Service;

  • Actively drive and support ongoing process improvements;

  • Observe and actively promote the Debt Team Mission and Values;

  • Implementing and maintaining customer contact methodologies to improve collections such as mail merges, bulk sms communications and outbound calling;

  • Creating Schedules for regular mail merges to drive efficiencies within the team;

  • Resource planning for mail merges, this includes communication with Marketing, Customer Services, Settlements and Management;

  • Managing early intervention to problem accounts;

  • Provide clear, concise commentary evidencing actions performed for weekly reporting packs;

  • UAT testing for all debt management activities;

  • Supporting mail merges for operations as a whole.

    Experience of working in an analyst role;

  • Proven experience of working in a regulated environment;

  • Demonstrate success in working with 3rd parties' debt collection agencies;

  • In depth understanding of credit and debt management processes;

  • Highly Numerate, analytical and problem-solving capabilities;

  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel (e.g. pivot tables, data queries, macro's complex formulas etc), SQL and Power BI knowledge and experience.
