Full Job Description

This is a great opportunity for an experienced administrator or Diary Manager to play a vital role at the centre of the British Museum, providing the Director with effective and efficient management of his complex diary. You will help prepare materials for the Director's meetings and presentations, lead on the coordination of VIP visits to the BM, and support the Director's office.
With Dr Nicholas Cullinan joining as Director next month with new plans for the Museum, it is an exciting time to join us.
Key areas of responsibility:
Manage and prioritise the Director's complex and busy diary to ensure all deadlines are met.
Schedule and co-ordinate meetings - making all the necessary arrangements including distributing paperwork, preparing refreshments, booking venues and arranging catering.
Manage the Director's invitations, inform colleagues of relevant meetings and produce documents on behalf of the Director, e.g. power-point presentations.
Manage the Director's expenses.
Provide effective support to the Director's Executive Assistant and the Director's Office.
Co-ordinate VIP visits to the Museum, including constructing visit programme including protocol assessment.
Manage a programme of weekly Staff Talks, in consultation with staff across the Museum.
Co-ordinate honours nominations across the Museum.

Educated to A-level standard or equivalent.
IT literate with the ability to use a range of software packages including Microsoft Office.
An understanding of senior diary management.
Good time management and organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, and an ability to work independently, flexibly as part of a team, and with tact and sensitivity.
