Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to become a driver for Sheffield City Council. You will be part of a friendly team who provide an excellent standard of service and really make a difference to the lives of children with special education needs.

You will be driving a range of modern designated vehicles to transport children with special needs from home to school in the morning and return in the afternoon.

You will be working closely with Children, their parents, and careers, showing patience and understanding and be able to communicate with people from all backgrounds, making every journey a positive and enjoyable experience.

You will require a D1 Category driving licence giving the ability to drive vehicles carrying up to 16 passengers or possess a PSV Licence.

We will train you to the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MIDAS) Standards.

This is a part time service, and you will work a minimum of 20 hours per week working split shifts am and pm for 38 weeks per year (term time only), giving you the opportunity to start a role that gives you a fantastic work life balance. Salary is pro-rata to the full-time salary of £23,500 to £23,893.

Actual pay is £10,609.33 per annum, this is paid at £884.11 per calendar month.

Extra hours are paid at £12.38 per hour.

If appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
