Full Job Description

Our Electrical Engineer will be responsible for accurately costing and designing MV Electrical Schemes and ensuring all electrical equipment is in line with customer requirements at tender stage.

The successful candidate will ensure that project profitability is maintained whilst meeting customer specifications and satisfaction goals and the company's overall strategy.

Your main tasks and responsibilities :

  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements

  • Evaluating electrical systems, products, components, and finalising required interfaces between sub-vendors and client systems and associated costs in readiness for handover to Order Related Engineering

  • Providing compliant designs, upfront engineering (Single Line Diagrams, System Block Diagrams) and inclusion of in-depth documentation and cost estimates required for incorporation into the main tender / proposal within committed timescales / deadlines, for targeted / likely orders

  • Evaluate supplier technical proposals are in-line with the customer needs

  • Supporting Sales, attending bid clarification and client kick-off meetings where complex LV & MV systems are required.

  • Actively participating in order review / assembly review meetings, providing guidance to projects during engineering phases

  • Provide technical support to New Business Projects, review project documentation

  • Attendance at testing of HV Electrical Equipment for Special Purpose' applications

    HNC / Equivalent in Electrical Engineering.

  • Relevant experience within related industry

  • Knowledge of LV and MV Equipment, Electrical Distribution & Protection Systems

  • Knowledge of controls & instrumentation products is preferred

  • Design & draughting skills, AutoCAD

  • Good computer skills, MS Office

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills are vital for the position due to the level of interaction with customer, suppliers, and Sulzer personnel

  • Ability to act independently

  • Flexibility & ability to adapt to change whilst maintaining attention to detail
