Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Project Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.

Ideally, you will based in or around the Normanton area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

You will become a key member of a team successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes predominately to the Water Industry in sewage and clean water. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work alongside the project delivery team to ensure the design, procurement, financial control and site activities are achieved.,

  • Outline engineering from inception to completion of schemes utilising in-house resources, site installation and construction personnel.

  • Delivery of water M&E projects e.g., Pumping Stations, Dosing Systems, Chlorination plants & associated civil structures etc.

  • Early site investigation works in coordination with the client, design and project team

  • Production and review of health and safety documentation (risk assessments & method statements / Project management plans).

  • Procurement of materials

  • Attend/undertake factory, site and works testing, commissioning, and client training

  • Attendance and input into internal and client design reviews

  • Working closely with the design team to gather all required information, participate in regular design reviews and Hazard Studies to develop the best solution

  • Involvement with cost to complete / budget reviews with the project delivery teams

  • Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors

  • Involvement with preparation of subcontract orders

  • Assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works

  • Liaison with site manager and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme, budget, and quality

  • Developing Inspection and Test Plans and ensuring they are completed as the scheme progresses

  • Innovation whilst maintaining compliance to current standards

  • Preparation & management of project programmes

  • Proactive approach to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety performance

  • To work with the team to develop and close out all contract documentation such as, "As built" drawings, Commissioning Manuals and Operation and Maintenance Manuals

  • An industry applicable electrical ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent

  • Proven experience within the Water Industry

  • Chemical dosing experience desirable but not essential

  • ATEX experience desirable but not essential

  • Commercial and contractual awareness

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Project
