Full Job Description

We are looking for a new member to join the team of a rapidly growing powered access plant hire company as an HGV delivery driver. This is a great opportunity for a competent, hands on individual looking to start or continue in, not just a job, but a career within the ever growing and busy plant hire industry.

Based in Darlington but delivering mainly across the North East and nationwide, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to, the general maintenance and upkeep of our wagon, on time and professional deliveries to a safe standard, demonstration of different machines for customers, collections of plant, tools, and site equipment from our parent company Braddan Structures ongoing work sites, cleaning the wagon, trailer, and machines during quiet periods.

The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery driving for a powered access plant hire company, a full clean HGV license and driver qualification card. A towing license would benefit greatly for delivery of smaller machines when necessary. You must have a good wealth of knowledge, experience, and respect with regards to health and safety and the legislations that these machines and the delivery thereof fall under.

Job role to include:

· Basic pre use inspections before loading for collections and deliveries.

· Recording and inspection of any damage or defects recently caused by customers on collection.

· Correct collection and delivery recording procedures using a mobile device and InspHire software - will be trained on this procedure.

· Professional attitude and good customer service.

· Flexibility with regards to early starts/late finishes for working hours.

· A thorough knowledge of driving hours laws and general VOSA regulations.

· Flexibility with regards to other works during quiet wagon periods, I,e cleaning and general maintenance of wagon, trailers, vans, machines etc. to a professional standard.

· General good health and fitness level - this is a physically demanding job and not suitable for those with physical conditions.

Requirements:

· GCSE Math's and English - C or above

· Full UK HGV Driving License - Class 2 is a necessity but Class 1 or towing lisence would be preferable.

· IPAF Operator, demonstrator, and Load and Unload qualification preferable but not necessary.

· Counterbalance forklift license preferable but not necessary,

  • Driving a Goods Vehicle: 1 year (preferred)

  • Heavy Plant Transport: 1 year (preferred)
