Full Job Description

We are looking to appoint a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to work alongside the class teacher to further children's learning and deepen their understanding. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering lessons / activities for individuals/groups or classes (PPA cover) and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils' achievement, progress and development. Responsible for the management and development of a specialist area within the academy.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant status or working towards this (Level 4)

  • Level 2 Numeracy / Literacy (or willingness to work towards)

  • Training in relevant learning strategies e.g. literacy

    Morley Newlands Academy is a large primary school, with over 650 children from Nursery age right up to Year 6. Situated close to the centre of Morley in south Leeds, our academy serves families from across the local community.
