Full Job Description

This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.

In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based HR Team

BACKGROUND TO THE POST

POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION

As a member of the land based directorate, you will be responsible to the Subject Leader for Veterinary Nursing.

Essential Attainments

  • An appropriate Level 6 qualification (e.g. BSc, BA).

  • RCVS registration as an RVN or MRCVS.

  • Be current in your professional CPD - with a specific interest in practice management.

  • Previous experience of teaching or mentoring/supervision of learners.

  • GCSE grade A-C (4-9) or equivalent qualification in Maths and English.

  • A willingness to undertake CPD to include (as necessary for role) a HE Teacher Training certificate.

  • Strong administrative skills, including IT skills.


  • Desirable Attainments
  • Previous experience of teaching at the relevant level and subject.

  • Understanding of approaches to research and subject specific evidence base.

  • The vision, drive and enthusiasm to achieve targets.

  • Excellent organisational skills with an adaptable and flexible approach.

  • Good time keeping and time management skills with ability to work to deadlines and targets.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work as a team member and to communicate effectively with students and industry organisations.

  • Experience of interdisciplinary working in a professional setting.

  • Working knowledge of information technology such as e-mail, the internet and other software applications.

  • Self-motivated with an ability to motivate others.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
