Full Job Description

We're looking for a Hygiene Manager to join our Scarborough plant! You'll be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of high hygiene standards across the site, developing and leading your Hygiene Team and working in collaboration withour Production, QA & Technical and Engineering teams to ensure legal requiremtnts, GMP compliance and customer expectations are met.

You'll also:

  • Set clear objectives and personal development plans for the Hygiene Team in order to deliver the overall purpose of the role and drive continuous improvement

  • Ensure Hygiene Team training needs are identified and met through coaching, development and internal & external training

  • Proactively work with Area Operational Leaders and Departments to develop strong working relationships in order to move the business forward

  • Maintain departmental costs within set budgets

  • Manage the ordering and stock control of hygiene consumables and chemicals

  • Oversee the completion of pest prevention actions to the required standards

  • Conduct compliance audits and inspections of internal hygiene standards and documentation

  • Manage the provision of hygiene chemicals and dosing equipment on site. To include regular supplier reviews

  • Oversee the safe storage, transportation and use of chemicals on site

  • Ensure CIC's & audit schedules are effective, demonstrate best practice and promote continuous improvement

  • Apply RCA to environmental fails and evolve sustainable corrective actions

  • Demonstrate cleaning validation, documented with adherence to cleaning schedules

  • An active team member of the HACCP team

  • Demonstrate a hands-on approach in supporting the site teams in participating in food safety investigations and projects to drive improvements. Occasional requirement to work nights/weekends as per business needs

  • Provide key performance environmental monitoring data to the business

  • Demonstrate compliance during third party audits and customer visits e.g. AIB, BRC, SQMS BK & McDonalds

    An experienced Hygiene Manager with manufacturing experience, ideally within a large FMCG business. We also want someone who prides themselves on the standard and quality of their work, and who has a high attention to detail as well as being able to inspire and influence others to lead by example.   • Proven experience of hygiene management with a clear demonstration of ability to manage hygiene processing to high risk/high care standards

  • Project management skills

  • Experience of engaging and motivating staff and colleagues

  • Health, Safety & Environmental knowledge

  • HACCP knowledge

  • Chemical knowledge
