Full Job Description

Our Packaging Innovation Associate is a key part of the Airwick/Pest Packaging Team in Hull. Working within the Global R&D Packaging team, you will drive the structural packaging development of new products, from concept to market launch. In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of internationally renowned brands, like Airwick.

This role would be a great fit for a creative design engineer, with passion for product development, an appetite for exploring new territories and an enthusiasm for continuous development and change.

Your responsibilities

- Develop and validate new structural packaging formats for future product launches.

- Create structural packaging solutions and ideas to support the project pipeline.

- Improve the sustainability of our products by improving and future proofing packaging.

- Lead the implementation of virgin plastic reduction, recycled content and recyclability targets.

- Propose and implement packaging ideas that will make our products more cost effective.

- Ensure that new packaging adheres to regulatory and legal requirements.

- Protect our products by optimising costs, raising quality, and ensuring we meet regulatory standards.

Degree in Packaging Engineering, related scientific field or equivalent experience.

- Proven experience as a packaging or material engineer or product designer.

- Product or project management experience, ideally within packaging or devices.

- Some understanding of manufacturing technology and processes (both for the packaging itself and filling / packing).

- Ability to prioritise and balance projects and tasks in line with product timelines.

- Can ensure design ideas are accurately developed, within budget, requirement and scope.

- Passion for sustainability.
