Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Group Sales department, working across the Headline and Quercus divisions

We are looking for a creative and motivated salesperson to maximise sales through Waterstones across the Headline and Quercus lists, working on fiction brands from Neil Gaiman to Elly Griffiths, as well as across a broad non-fiction list.

Responsibilities will include achieving the Waterstones sales budgets across the Headline and Quercus divisions; fostering relationships with key Waterstones head office contacts and booksellers, and working closely with internal sales, marketing, editorial and publicity departments to drive Waterstones sales with enthusiasm, creativity and commercial expertise.

  • A proven sales track record

  • Experience in Waterstones account management

  • Experience in building strong customer relationships

  • Commercial awareness and strong analytical skills

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to work as a team player

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with a meticulous eye for detail

  • This role can be based at our London or Sheffield office, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
