Nanovation Therapeutics UK (NTxUK) is a start-up company focused on the development of new lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery technologies to enable the next generation of genetic medicines. Based on the UK's leading science and innovation campus at Harwell, Oxfordshire, we are looking for an experienced, part-time Accountant to join our team.

For this part-time role, we are flexible on working days and hours, envisaging an initial requirement of 2 days per week. As the company continues to grow, these hours may increase.

Essential duties:

- Managing A/P and A/R to ensure timely and efficient payments, invoicing and collections.

- Administration of payroll

- Preparing annual and monthly financial statements, balance sheet and cash flow statements, journal entry accruals, account reconciliations and related financial management reports.

- Contributing to the preparation of regular project reports required by granting agencies and/or third parties who retain NTxUK for development services.

- Assisting with variance analysis, regular bank and GL reconciliations, budget to actual comparison and P&L reviews.

- Preparation and submission of VAT returns

Must be a qualified member of a recognised Accountancy body

- Proven experience in accounting, commerce, finance, business administration or another relevant field.

- Proficiency in accounting software like PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero

- Strong understanding of financial management principles

- Demonstrably excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
