Full Job Description

As a Primary PE Coach at FUNDA Active, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality physical education programs to primary school students. Your role is to inspire and motivate children to develop a lifelong love for physical activity and healthy living. You will design and deliver engaging lessons, promote skill development, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Program Delivery:

- Plan and deliver dynamic and age-appropriate physical education lessons based on the FUNDA Active curriculum.

- Teach a variety of activities, sports, and games that promote physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

- Adapt lesson plans to accommodate students with diverse abilities and learning styles.

- Utilize innovative teaching strategies to engage and motivate students throughout the lessons.

- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

2. Skill Development:

- Teach fundamental movement skills, such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, and coordination exercises.

- Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, and feedback to help students improve their technique and performance.

- Implement progressive skill-building activities that cater to different levels of ability.

- Develop and implement strategies to enhance students' overall physical literacy.

3. Assessments and Progress Monitoring:

- Regularly assess and monitor students' progress in physical education through observation, performance assessments, and formative assessments.

- Maintain accurate records of students' achievements, strengths, and areas for improvement.

- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their growth and development.

4. Classroom Management and Behaviour:

- Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation, respect, and cooperation.

- Implement behaviour management strategies to ensure a safe and disciplined classroom environment.

- Address any behavioural issues promptly and in accordance with FUNDA Active policies and procedures.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

- Collaborate with school staff, teachers, and parents to integrate physical education with other subjects and school activities.

- Communicate regularly with school staff, parents, and guardians to provide updates on student progress, upcoming events, and any concerns.

- Participate in meetings and professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on industry best practices.

6. FUNDA Active Ambassador:

- Represent FUNDA Active with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

- Act as a positive role model for students, inspiring them to lead active and healthy lives.

Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- Experience working with primary school-aged children in a physical education or coaching capacity.

- Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum, teaching methods, and child development principles.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students.

- Passion for promoting physical fitness, health, and wellbeing among children.

- Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.

- Strong classroom management and behavior management skills.

- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).

- Valid driver's license and access to transportation to travel to different schools.,

  • Sports coaching with primary aged children: 1 year (required)


  • Licence/Certification:
  • Paediatric First Aid Certification (preferred)

  • AfPe Level 2+ / Equivalent (preferred)

  • Multi-Skills Level 2 (preferred)

  • Pay: £23,500.00-£25,000.00 per year
