Full Job Description

We would like to hire a trainee PR and local events coordinator to join our team of 10 content creators at our social media studio in Reading.

Your work will entail building our profile with local organisations and media and bloggers in the Reading area and nationally, telling our story and engaging them in our busy events schedule.

We sell portable solar panels and portable batteries but we livestream using social media and our events are all linked to interesting ways to live life under 2 kWh or energy per day - teaching about electricity and solar power and also how to use it wisely

We are super flexible on your workload - we want to tailor the job to your circumstances so that you can perform at your best and do what you really enjoy doing.

Responsibilities: Conceive media stories and events, pitch stories to local media, reach out to community and performers to coordinate and organise, prepare marketing materials - ads and leaflets and our events catalogue, maintain Eventbrite and Meetup and other online listings.

Qualifications: you do not need any specific qualifications in this role but you have probably studies PR or events management.

Local community: it is very important to us that you are rooted in the Reading area, as building our community locally is our first priority

Experience: even though you will be a trainee, we really do want to see some experience of your running events in the local Reading area (maybe school shows, local theatre, music events, parties?)

Passions: We hope you might be passionate about using solar power to create clean energy and want to share experiences with the local community. We definitely hope you are passionate about the joy, excitement and warm feelings which good events can create for people.,
