Full Job Description

Working from our Head Office in York, your role will be the product design engineer within our growing House Brands team to assist with industrial and mechanical design. As a creative engineering arm to the R+D team, you will collaborate with our experienced product specialists and design engineers to take product concepts and briefs into comprehensive concept drawings and manufacture-ready documentation, including 2D and 3D designs, bills of materials and specification drafts.,

  • Work collaboratively with cross discipline designers and product specialists to a project brief.

  • Consider price/specification analysis, selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing methods to achieve the brief.

  • Research and identify music industry trends to create market leading, brand specific design.

  • Create product sketches, 3D drawings and renders to present new concepts to stakeholders and manufactories, using Solidwords and Visualise/Keyshot software.

  • Help to create tender and RFQ documentation using Adobe Suite of programs.

  • Examine and measure physical products to create 2D drawings and 3D models.

  • Maintain accurate records and technical files for designs.

    We're looking for an engineer with detailed knowledge in various product design disciplines, as the House Brands product offering ranges from speakers & amplifiers, drums & guitars to studio furniture & instrument stands. In this dynamic role, you would be applying your product design experience across the entire range!


  • You are someone with a keen eye on the latest design trends, and can translate that to new product releases that exceed market expectations and are in-line with a developed brand ID.,
  • High level proficiency in SolidWorks.

  • Proficiency in rendering software, such as Visualise or Keyshot.

  • Proven mechanical engineering background, with a passion for how products are built and function.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a keen problem-solving mentality.

  • Good knowledge of musical instruments and pro audio equipment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high paced team of cross-discipline engineers (ECAD/MCAD knowledge desirable)

  • Knowledge of current global factors influencing the manufacturing market and efficiencies to drive down manufacturing costs.
