Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with excellent organisational and communication skills, capable of effectively managing a project that is focused on the provision of our Allotment Services ensuring it successful completion within scope and the given timeframe.
You will be required to:

  • review the current position in liaison management and the operational team to establish the as is picture

  • establish a clear path of actions, milestones and point of review with managers, stakeholders and local members at appropriate junctures and ensure consultations and notifications are carried out to ensure all are accordingly informed

  • review our offer against external to Barnsley Council provision looking at best practice from other authorities and sources with a view to drafting a plan to modernise and bring improvements to our provision

  • review and update our tenancy agreement to ensure it is fit for purpose and make recommendations relating to its application and the requirements that need to be in place to ensure compliance

  • identify risks that have the potential to impact on the project and work to develop solutions to appropriately mitigate

  • review our online presence relating to allotment provision and update to make the digital experience reflective of position, accessible and fit for purpose

  • seek opportunities to bring funding into the Council that is orientated around the improvement of our allotment provision and the promotion of public wellbeing
