Full Job Description

My client, a multi-site national manufacturing business, seek to appoint a QHSE Manager to support the development of a strategy to shape the QHSE function within the company whilst providing day-to-day hands-on shop floor based support to multiple manufacturing plants.

As QHSE Manager you will report to the Operations Director and work closely with the individual site management teams to deliver the overarching QHSE strategy, drive a culture of continuous improvement, and embed a "right first time" approach as standard. Your role with cover all of health, safety, and environment, and to a lesser extent quality. This is a manager of one (yourself) and requires you to be shop floor based for approximately half of your time. You'll be working across multiple sites so must be happy with expensed travel throughout the north England in the M62 corridor. QHSE Manger - Role and Responsibilities - Continuous Improvement / Sigma / Health & Safety / SHEQ / ISO9001 / QMS / CAPA / Root Cause / ISO14001 / Health & Safety

  • Collate and analyse key performance data for reporting, and be the custodian of document control and record keeping within health, safety and environment

  • Ensure ISO14001 and ISO18001 requirements are implemented & maintained, and support the sites through technical, NPI / D & OPO, innovation or legislative changes

  • To verify product conformity against set product requirements

  • Manage and support continuous improvement projects, technical changes, and CI Events

  • Deal with issues concerning new product introductions and operational performance

  • Design and implement training development programmes, presentations & workshops, delivering continuous training, development, coaching & mentoring within health, safety and environment

  • A key interface with customers & suppliers, you will drive suppliers to deliver set KPIs to improve site heath, safety and environment

  • Quality Management experience beneficial


  • QHSE Manager - Skills and Abilities - Continuous Improvement / Sigma / Health & Safety / SHEQ / ISO9001 / QMS / CAPA / Root Cause / ISO14001 / Health & Safety

    Do you have a great working knowledge of health and safety within a manufacturing environment?,
  • A proven track record of driving continuous improvement within safety, health and environment that includes product and process audits in a fast-moving manufacturing environment is essential

  • Knowledge and experience of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO18001

  • Knowledge of lean techniques is an advantage

  • The successful candidate will have strong people, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to successfully drive change

  • Results orientated in approach and an effective problem solver, you will be highly organised and have the learning agility and flexibility to adapt to change

  • Valid Driving licence
