Safety, Health and Environment Assistant

To support the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliant safety, health, and environmental management systems across all activities.
What will your typical day look like?

• Coordinate and administer the company's Health & Safety policies and procedures.


• Work closely with responsible Managers, and other key staff to establish and maintain key Health, Safety, and Environmental improvements.


• Support in the implementation of Risk/CoSHH assessments ensuring suitable and sufficient safe working instructions are determined and communicated as appropriate.


• Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental training in respect of maintaining statutory levels of training and competence.


• Promote good safety, health, and environmental practices by training and educating people and supporting managers and other key staff.


• Responsible for the delivery of health, safety, and environmental training in-house and arrangement of external training.


• Carry out site audits ensuring compliance with all associated legislation and management system requirements.


• Participate and support in accident and incident investigations, ensuring the meeting of statutory reporting deadlines to HSE where applicable.


• Attend Safety Committee meetings.


• Support the Company's alcohol and drug screening programme.
  
  Ideally you have previous Safety, Health and Environment experience.


• Strong communication skills as you will be maintaining and developing good relationships with internal departments and with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.


• Must be able to work on own initiative providing accuracy at all times.


• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines for the team.


• Competent MS applications (in particular Excel).
