Full Job Description

As a Senior Production Controller, you will take the lead on a variety of titles, mostly mono fiction and non-fiction, with some special editions and colour books. You will project-manage all editions, print and digital, to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and look fabulous, to enable Hodder & Stoughton to fulfil its ambitious publishing programme.

You will work closely and collaboratively with internal teams across Editorial, Design, Sales, Inventory, Marketing and Publicity, as well as external suppliers, to identify and implement creative solutions for manufacturing, cost, and scheduling challenges.

This is a fixed term contract to cover a period of parental leave. It is an interesting, varied and creative role which offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of books in a friendly, inclusive and experienced team.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, able to prioritise multiple tasks and have a sharp eye for detail. A background in trade book publishing would be advantageous. A proactive team player who is also able to work independently, you will be able to demonstrate good commercial awareness and solid problem-solving skills.

  • This role can be based at our London or Sheffield office, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
