Full Job Description

Amazon is searching for an energetic, data driven and customer obsessed individual to join our Cost Management team. The successful candidate will be a key part of team and will be responsible for all cost aspects of our pan-EU specialist logistics building program. The individual will report to the Head of the Project Delivery Office department and drive data driven decisions to deliver the most frugal solutions of cost control and problem solving for our customers in the construction and engineering teams.

The role will be based in Europe with 20% of time traveling either domestically or to other EMEA countries. Applicants should have experience of construction and engineering cost management of simultaneous multiple projects, with examples of designing and deploying process improvements for greater cost control, Define, implement and improve means of tracking, analyzing and forecasting of capital spend accurately and to proactively guide the capital delivery programs
- Provide centralised cost management support services to project and field teams
- Development and application of cost governance & change control methods across all areas of capital delivery to minimise expenditure of unnecessary cost.
- Support project and field teams on implementing procurement strategies and guidelines
- Organise and lead regular project cost reviews of risks and opportunities to minimise out-turn cost through cost avoidance
- Provision of detailed and timely management information to the business
- Produce trend analysis and cost benchmarking (historic, competitor, market place, internal) to demonstrate risks, opportunities and make recommendations for future
- Continuously improve methods of construction cost forecasting to improve capital planning - Own all Reporting, Validation & Tracking measures toward D&C cost out targets.

A day in the life
A day in the life of this role will be meeting with teams to develop and finalise the budget for new projects and then support through the approvals process with benchmarking and negotiation, develop the cost/benefit analysis and then create the road map for implementing the cost management of the live project. You will also work closely with our internal design team and construction managers to deliver best practices and lessons learned into future generations of projects. Process improvement is key, as we scale across countries, currencies, construction and engineering elements. You will dedicate time each day to finding ways to scale the solutions the team designs to work across all regions of Planet Earth.

Bachelor's degree
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Significant experience in Cost Management, Capital Governance, Cost Estimation or related Finance fields.
- Proven ability to perform complex financial analysis, including financial modeling, cost forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in using cost estimation software and financial modelling tools (CostX, BIM360 cost module,).
- Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, adapt to evolving business needs and report to Senior Leadership.
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field.
- Master's degree in Cost Management, Finance or a related field.
- Significant professional experience in real estate finance, cost management, or strategic finance roles.
- Familiarity with industrial real estate leases, site development projects and project management.
- Familiarity with Data Visualization, Dashboard creation and Data Analytics.
- German, French, Polish, Arabic or Turkish are considered preferred qualification
