Software Build Engineer

Extensive experience with mainstream build and deployment automation tooling, ideally including Gitlab and Jenkins.
A pragmatic, problem-solving mindset
Deep understanding of agile workflows
Good experience of Linux, bash, python.

Join the development team which is responsible for designing and implementing all aspects of our proprietary trading algorithms, pricing models, user interfaces and exchange connectivity to most major derivatives venues.
The Software Build Engineer will work closely with traders, hardware and support teams. The teams are pragmatic and self-organising, delivering work iteratively. The teams follow best software practices, including unit testing, continuous integration and peer review. The individuals that make these teams up are problem solvers who are knowledgeable, collaborative, motivated and friendly, reflecting Makos values. The wider organization is supportive and collaborative technology is at the centre of what we do.

What youll be involved in:
As our team has expanded, we find ourselves needing a dedicated individual to look after our CI/CD pipelines, currently looked after by our talented development team. Dev productivity is a key area of focus for Mako, and you will have a broad remit to work on streamlining, unifying and improving our existing pipelines, taking ownership of this increasingly important area. Specific areas of work include:

Improving build speeds of our code in the CI pipelines
Distributing and scheduling the build load across machines and regions for our global dev team.
Improving and simplifying deployment automation
Creating tooling to support our dev processes, About Mako
