Full Job Description

We are looking for a full time Band 6 Specialist Practitioner and Supervisor to join our MHST and CWP team in Exeter/ East Devon. We are seeking a supervisor with either a core qualification or CWP/EMHP qualification alongside experience working with children and adolescents within an education and health setting.

The role will include a part-time Post-Graduate Supervisor training course, which will last for 1 year at the University of Exeter, this is a requirement for applicants who dont already have a supervisors qualification within CYP IAPT at this level.

The role is dynamic and challenging. You will provide assessments and hold an active caseload of children and adolescents with mild moderate emotional and mental health difficulties, delivering evidence-based 1:1 and group interventions, employing the principles underpinning the national CYPMH Children and Young Peoples Mental Health programme and the Whole School Approach.

Main duties of the job

Low-intensity, early intervention will be delivered in a range of education settings. You will build relationships with key stakeholders in educational provisions, to introduce and develop the Whole School Approach, alongside EMHPs

You will be an experienced and qualified professional (CWP or EMHP) with 2 years of post-qualifying training. The ability to adapt communication and intervention styles to meet individual need is important and you will have knowledge of child development and child protection procedures.

Using both evidence-based practice and routine outcome measures, you will use a strength-based approach to work collaboratively with people, in line with key CYP-IAPT principles.

Key areas of focus for the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) Supervisor/Clinician will be:

EMHP and CWP Support and Supervision

Delivering Early, low-intensity Intervention in accordance with the evidence base.

To build and maintain relationships with the Designated Mental Health Lead and other key professionals in our partner schools.
