Warehouse Assistant

We are looking for a self-starting, organised and motivated warehouse operative for a fast-paced retail operation based in S9. This is a full time, permanent position with 40 hours per week working one weekend in four.

Your role will to be to ensure that all deliveries are brought into the building and stored appropriately, ensuring a high level of housekeeping and stock availability at all times. You will be part of a small team in a fast moving environment.

You will be involved in picking/packing wholesale orders ready for dispatch, helping in and around the shop and any other duties deemed necessary.,

• Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, by hand or with a forklift truck.


• Checking for damaged or missing items from deliveries.


• Sorting deliveries into the appropriate storage areas or picking bays, preparing stock ready for sale.


• Moving stock from bulk storage into picking bays.


• Picking and packing wholesale orders


• Assisting the sales team with picking and packing orders when necessary.


• Picking stock transfers and loading them onto the delivery vehicle.


• Helping to organise supplier returns.


• Carrying out routine stock inspections and always working with a focus on stock accuracy.


• Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse will also be part of the daily routine.


• With heavy equipment in operation, warehouses can be dangerous places so following workplace health and safety rules will be essential.
  
  This role involves a lot of physical work and is demanding. Full driving license and previous warehouse experience is desired but not necessary. All necessary workplace training will be given.

• Have previous warehouse and FLT experience

• Hold valid UK driving license
