Full Job Description

Euro Auctions conducts unreserved auctions of industrial plant, construction equipment and agricultural machinery on a global basis with sites in the UK, Europe, UAE, Australia, and US. We are the market leader in Europe, holding more sales and selling more lots per sale than any other auction house., We are looking for an experienced workshop manager to join our busy team. In this position, you will be required to manage the workshop in its entirety working alongside the wash bay supervisor.

No two days are the same and we are looking for someone who can work on their own initiative and doesn't mind getting their hands dirty when needed.

Key Activities:

  • Manage and support the workshop team including mechanics, welders, fabricators, spray painters, valeting and wash bay operatives.

  • Liaise with HQ for time, attendance, and holidays for staff.

  • Proactively identifying areas for improvement and any training and development required for staff.

  • Complete new staff inductions and work with the Health and Safety Officer to schedule training as required.

  • Creating a rota to ensure the optimal staffing level is attainable for auction weekends.

  • Create and maintain service schedule for all yard machinery.

  • Ensure all yard and workshop equipment have a valid testing certificate and scheduled the timely completion of any renewals to ensure no downtime.

  • Manage the replenishment of consumables for the workshop.

  • Ensuring parts are ordered.

    3 years managerial experience.

  • Ability to take instruction as well as work on own initiative and follow Health & Safety legislation.

  • Willingness to work regular overtime during busy auction periods including weekends.

  • Prior experience operating and knowledge of all types of heavy equipment.

  • Fluent in English., Managerial: 4 years (required)

  • Plant Machinery: 4 years (preferred)
