Yard Hand & Trek Leader

The candidate must have an advanced level of riding ability, good knowledge in horse care (preferably with a horse care/riding qualification) with a confident, outgoing personality. The person must be customer focused with an ability to develop a rapport and create a positive experience for customers is a must along with being an excellent team player. A minimum of Grade 4 or above (GCSE Maths and English is preferred). A first aid qualification would be an advantage but not imperative.

The role will include leading Treks of all abilities, handling /grooming/ caring for/tacking up horses, usual yard duties including poo picking, mucking out, filling hay nets, dealing with customers face to face, leading Treks of all abilities and driving a tractor (training given on tractor driving/towing muck trailer) Due to the nature of the business the candidate needs to be below out height/weight limit ratio. The job involves many hours in the saddle therefore the candidate must be physically fit.,

• GCSE or equivalent (preferred), Horse Riding: 5 years (required)


• working with horses: 1 year (required)


• Driving a tractor: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (required)


• First Aid Certification (preferred)
  
  The salary will be the current National Minimum Wage. Working days will be Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Hours are 9am till 4.30pm December & January & 9am till 5.30pm all other months. Holidays not permitted in school holiday periods.
