About the Post:
We're excited to be recruiting to our Targeted Youth Support Service in Barnsley.

Candidates must have a minimum of a relevant Level 2 qualification or a certificate in Youth Work practice E.g., Youth and Community work or Working with Young People in the secondary age range.
Due to the youth work nature of this post, it will operate on an any 5 from 7 basis with the work pattern varying each week and is inclusive of twilight/evenings as standard.
Candidates must have ability to work during the day, after school, on an evening and the occasional weekend and overnight residential experience to meet the needs of the service.
Candidates are expected to travel independently to various sites of work across the borough daily including schools, youth provisions and other BMBC and partner buildings. The nature of this role is that the service meets the needs of young people at a time and place that allows them to be involved.
If you have relevant qualifying experience of working with and for Young People aged 11 to 24yrs in a variety of settings including in secondary schools, youth groups and in the community and you are interested in Young People's voice and current affairs/issues which affect them this opportunity may be for you….
Are you able to support Young People to share their views and co-facilitate activities and sessions which would allow them to participate in discussions and youth led activities?
Do you believe that Young People have a right to articulate their wants and needs and should be encouraged to be active citizens and make a positive contribution to community life?
This Youth Voice Participation Support Worker role will work as part of a busy team whose primary focus is to engage young people in having an active voice in the design and delivery of services which affect young people in their local communities, across the region and on a national level.
As part of the team you will establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with young people, and support work with key decision makers, internal and external stakeholders and partner organisations through meetings, events and face to face sessions in secondary schools, youth groups and outreach work the community.
