Post: Laboratory Technician - Four hours per week, 2 hours to be worked on a Monday or Tuesday (morning or afternoon) plus 2 hours on either a Thursday or Friday (morning or afternoon). Term time only., We would expect the Laboratory Technician to:

Prepare materials and equipment for science lessons

Maintain science laboratories and preparation rooms and their equipment, and services in good order

Provide technical support to the Science Department, including: assisting in practical classes, carrying out demonstrations, preparing resources, assembling apparatus

Prepare standard solutions, etc., purifying chemicals, treating waste

Return apparatus, etc. and chemicals to storage as soon as practicable

Carry out general duties in support of the teachers in the Science Department

Work as part of the staff team to create a safe, secure and caring environment for pupils
